Vacation Bible School
2010 VBS -- July 26 to 30, 9AM to 12 noon!!
This Year's Theme: High Seas Expedition!

Calling all kids - members and non-members! This year we will be out on the ocean exploring the mighty love of God.

Online Registration is now CLOSED.

If you would like to register after Saturday, July 24th, please come to VBS on Monday morning at 8:30AM.

We do not charge a fee, but donations are welcome.

If you have never experienced Vacation Bible School, it is high energy, kid-friendly, & fun! Our high seas sailing theme will be felt in the music, crafts, and games. Each day has a Bible Point from the Bible story, Chadder the chipmunk’s video segment, and is also reflected in the crafts, games and daily Bible Buddy character.

Are your kids ready for adventure?

That’s just what they’ll have at High Seas Expedition, where we’ll explore the mighty love of God! High Seas Expedition is filled with incredible Bible-learning that kids see, hear, touch, and even taste!
Bible Point crafts, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the High Seas activities that help faith flow into real life.
(Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and safe shoes.) Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see God in everyday life—something we call God Sightings. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot!

Your kids will also participate in a hands-on mission project called Operation Kid-to-Kid™ that involves millions of other children across North America!

The Expedition will have children in one of three groups:

ELEMENTARY
– students who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade.

  • Travel throughout the First Trinity campus attending 20 min stations such as Ship Red Games,
Clipper Ship Crafts & Missions, Chadder’s Sail Away Cinema, and Bible Voyage Adventures.
  • Groups are a maximum of 6 mixed aged children with a Crew Leader (a teenager or adult)
  • Begin the day worshipping in the sanctuary of the church at Sing-N-Play Splash and end there also for the Floating Finale.
  • Parents/caregivers are welcome to come at 11:35 prior to the noon ending.

SKIPPER’S PRESCHOOL PLAYHOUSE

  • Skipper is a sea-faring parrot.
  • If a child is in the First Trinity preschool 3 or 4 year
old program currently, they are eligible for Rocky’s
    Preschool House.
  • In other words, the child must be 4 by Dec 1, 2009
    to be eligible.
  • Preschoolers also travel to stations in the Preschool
    room with a crew leader.

TUGBOAT TOTS

  • For children from birth to 3 1/2 (as of VBS week).
  • Age appropriate stories, crafts and music will be provided.
  • This group must be picked up by 11:30 am each day. Parents are welcome to take your Tugboat Tot into the church for the Floating Finale which lasts until 12 noon.

High Seas Expedition Also Needs Volunteers!

Are you interested in volunteering for High Seas Expedition this year? Get ready for faith building activities, powerful songs, and fun games!  If you are a sixth grader to adult, love the Lord, love children, and like to have fun, then this job is for you. There are opportunities for direct contact with children, assisting teachers or behind the scenes roles.
Here are places you can get involved:

Crew Leaders
If you are in 6th grade or older, love the Lord, love children, and like to have fun, then this job is for you.  Your job is to have a relationship with 3-6 elementary aged children or 3-4
preschoolers and keep them safe.  Crew leaders must attend one training session. These are scheduled for either 7/14 at 7-8:15 PM or 7/17 at 9:30-10:45 AM. Can you be a friend?

Host Team

If you have the gift of hospitality and conversation, this is the place for you!  We are looking for people to help with parking, give directions in the building, and usher children to their crew.  You can help 1 to 5 days for an hour or more - your choice.

Registration

Friendly, patient people are needed to check in the pre-registered children or help fill out the online form for incoming families.  Computer skills are helpful.

Worship Leaders

Elementary school students who want to help lead worship during Sing-N-Play Splash and the Floating Finale attend several practices to learn the music & motions.

Tugboat Tots Helper

The Tugboat Tots are children from birth to age 3 1/2.  If you enjoy this age group, consider giving your love & care to them.

STATION LEADER HELPERS
Goodies from the Galley Station Helper

If you enjoy preparing and serving food, maintaining a clean environment, working in a kitchen or restaurant, and helping children, then this job is for you!

Elementary Stations Helper

The other stations that children will visit often need helpers.  Clipper Ship Crafts are done each day as well as Ship Rec Games and a hands on Bible story at Bible Voyage (female actors are needed on Monday).

PreSchool Stations Helper

Skipper’s Preschool also has stations that the preschool crews travel to – games, Chadder’s Sail Away Cinema, Crafts, Bible Adventures & Missions. If you love 3 ½ to 5 year olds, come sail away with them.

Sound like fun? Sound like You?
