One thing has become clear since we started the vision process at First Trinity back in October of 2014: God’s people have a desire to start reaching beyond our own building. As we read through all the ideas for where people feel God is leading us as a church, many focused on the community. Expanding Lifetree Cafe, more service opportunities, and expanding our Preschool were just a few ideas.
As a special kick-off for the new vision—especially the community-focused piece of it—we wanted to do something to make an impact in the greater Buffalo community. To that end, we are inviting you to be a bringer and a giver, and by doing so, make an eternal impact.
Jesus showed us how to do this. He brought Himself to the Cross so we could have salvation! We gain life because of what He did. Jesus also was a giver. He gave His life for you and me. When the Bible talks about Jesus’ blood as a ransom for us, that literally is a monetary term for “bought back”.
Would you consider being a bringer and a giver this Easter? First, invite someone to come to Easter service with you. People actually expect it at this time of year! Who has God been prompting you to speak with? Bring them along with you to Easter service this year!
Second, be prepared to give above and beyond your normal offering to The Easter Offering. Special envelopes will be available at all Easter services to make a contribution above and beyond our normal offerings. Your additional gift will share Jesus beyond our normal ministry as we partner with Jericho Road Ministries in Buffalo to help refugees, immigrants, and others in need to get the care and support they need.
We’ll talk some more about this in worship, but I hope you’ll consider joining us in making an eternal impact in our community by being a bringer and a giver.
