Saturday Night Post from Nepal Team

Pastor Chuck Whited and Director of Care Ministries, Marsha Peth have joined with some people from Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church and a UB Campus Ambassador on a mission trip to Nepal with Sowers Ministries, June 18 – 30.

Another busy, yet God filled day today. We began at a school where The Sowers Ministry has done so much good- providing school buildings, teacher salaries, computers, and even housing for the pastor who had been giving all he had to the school. When we arrived they gave us so many flowers that our arms were overflowing! Overflowing with love! The children are so excited to see us! Many Of the people in this area have never seen someone from America or China, so they are eager to be around us. We are surrounded by so many smiling children, thankful for what they have, as little as that may be. Some of the girls did Nepali dances wearing beautiful traditional clothes. We sang and danced together and then laughed together as we did “Father Abraham” and another funny fruit song with them. They laughed so much at our “Fruit of the Spirit” skit. Pastor Chuck once again dazzled the children with his card tricks.

The afternoon church meeting was next. Over two hundred fifty people were packed into this small concrete block church with over one hundred people outside around the building. Great worship and teaching. The highlight of the afternoon was baptizing fifty two people in a nearby river. After the baptism two of our friends from China shared the Gospel with someone who had just come by and wondered what was going on. Many people asked for us to pray over them right there on the dirt road beside the river.

As you can see, Jesus is reaching people in a huge way! Thanks be to God!
