Tuesday Night Update from Nepal

Pastor Chuck Whited and Director of Care Ministries, Marsha Peth have joined with some people from Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church and a UB Campus Ambassador on a mission trip to Nepal with Sowers Ministries, June 18 – 30.

This morning 39 beautiful little Nepali children came to our hotel for a kind of VBS program.  First they all gathered around our large dining room table for breakfast- a welcome treat for hungry children.  Then we gathered in a large room for songs, lessons, skits and crafts.  What God does is amazing!  We had not planned for this time, but God gave us His ideas and all that was needed for an incredible and fun morning!   The children heard the Gospel message from a picture cube and  learned that Jesus is the light of the world from flashlights and fidget spinners.  They heard a testimony from one of our team about the light that God shone into her life, and then talked about they could be a light in the world to others.  They made beautiful drawings, many with crosses and Jesus, and hearts!  Lots of loud singing and praising, jumping, and laughing filled the room.  Jesus’ love filled all of our hearts today.  These children have hard lives, but they love the Lord so much!!!   We had lunch and then said goodbye with many hugs!

Another fun story:  Yesterday the women from the USA team wore their Nepali dresses to that church.  Today the women from the China team modeled their very fancy Nepali dresses after lunch.   All the children cheered!
Each child here blessed our hearts!  Their teachers work so hard!  They inspire us!  Please keep them in your prayers.  May God protect and sustain them.  And keep them in His care.   “Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven.”  Matthew 5:16
