Workcamp 2017 – Day 3

Today’s Theme: From Disappointment to Doubt
Read Luke 24:13-24

Sometimes the unexpected events along the road create disappointment. Our disappointment can lead to doubt, especially when Jesus doesn’t seem to be doing what we expect him to do. Jesus walks through our doubt with us, working with us to resolve our doubt. Even when we don’t see him clearly. Where are you experiencing disappointment or doubt in your life or where have you experienced that in the past? Spend some time telling Jesus about that and ask him to give patience when you can see how He is working in those situations.

Schedule:

  • Pack tools and lunches
  • Morning program
  • Work at work sites morning and afternoon
  • Free Time
  • Evening Program and FT Team Devotion

Prayer Ideas:

  • Continued prayer for teams as they connect.
  • Prayer for initial contact with residents we will serve. From the very beginning may our actions show them God’s presence with them
  • Wisdom for teams to know where to start on their projects & that God would provide them all they need to complete the task in front of them
  • Evening Program and devotion would help us connect with Jesus first thing this week

Thanks for sharing your days with us and the pictures. Keeping you all in prayer. Disappointment can cause us to doubt – The Lord has done so much for Brad and I – his surgery itself was a miracle and his recovery wonderful, but the time in between brought a new problem each day having nothing to do with his surgery but with his lungs, and contagious conditions around him – this was when doubt set in at times, and I had to shake myself and remind myself that the Lord had given us a second chance with his surgery – He was not done with Brad and He would see us through it all. Today I continue to praise the Lord for seeing us through everything and sitting here with my husband in our living room is a real blessing! God Bless You All.
