Workcamp 2017 – Day 3

Today’s Theme: From Disappointment to Doubt Read Luke 24:13-24 Sometimes the unexpected events along the road create disappointment. Our disappointment can lead to doubt, especially when Jesus doesn’t seem to be doing what we expect him to do. Jesus walks through our doubt with us, working with us to resolve our doubt. Even when we don’t see him clearly. Where are you experiencing disappointment or doubt in your life or where have you experienced that in the past? Spend some…

Workcamp 2017 – Day 2

Follow our Workcamp 2017 Team!

Tomorrow morning, 19 First Trinity students and adult leaders load up and head towards Maryland for a week-long Workcamp Mission Trip. During Workcamp, missionaries work in crews of 5-6 to repair a home.  We get to build relationships with each other and our residents as we scrape, paint, build, or whatever their home needs.  All throughout the days we also engage with God’s Word and each other in prayer, devotions, worship, evening programs and more.  Each evening is wrapped up…

What’s Happening Over At UB? – A Ministry Update

For years we have felt a call at First Trinity to be involved in ministry at the University at Buffalo (UB), but have struggled to figure out exactly what that looks like.  We’ve come alongside other ministries encouraging and helping them.  I’ve helped lead a weekly small group alongside students.  We hosted Lifetree Café on for a little over a semester.  All of that was great and we truly saw God at work in each opportunity, but it was also…

Florida Mission Trip Day 6 Recap

“Today we ate breakfast, cleaned up, and headed to the airport. We enjoyed our remaining time together in the car and over lunch. Despite some talkative neighbors towards the back of the plane, travels went smoothly and we were soon greeting family at the Buffalo Airport.” – Jordan Trautwein  “It has been a crazy week! Today, we packed up our suitcases and got on a plane to Buffalo. We’re back home now, back to our normal lives, back to family…

Florida Mission Trip – Day 5 Recap

“What an awesome week- full of pure joy, huge smiles, and lots of dance parties! GKTW empowers all of us to do everything we can to help families embrace every moment of their vacations. This morning I got to take pictures of kids meeting Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, and my personal favorite, Belle. You should have seen the young boy who discovered that Mickey’s head feels the same as his slightly more than bald head! Of course, we’ve also been…

Florida Mission Trip Recap – Day 4

“Today was a weird day. I never rode a horse before and I thought today was going to be the day! I was so excited and I even asked the guy in charge if we could ride the horse at the end after all the kids were done riding, and he said yes. I was so ecstatic and I had accumulated all my energy while walking all the kids on the horses around in a circle 50 times. It was…

Florida Mission Trip Recap – Day 3

“Today we had the morning off so we went to the beach and an escape room. Seagulls tried to ruin our lunch in the beach by stealing three people’s sandwiches from their hands, but we survived. The escape rooms were super cool (my team had to maneuver through laser beams like ninjas). We went to Chick-fil-a for dinner and then had a surprise birthday party for Mayor Clayton at the village. Jordan and I ran the station where kids made…
