Heartfelt Prayers Q&A: Week 2

For questions that were answered in worship, we tried to transcribe the answer as best we could, while making a few changes to ease the readability. You can listen to Jason answer most of these questions on our website at FirstTrinity.com/blog. For those we weren’t able to answer in worship, we have provided an answer below, but they will obviously not be found in the recording. I don’t feel like I have a cupbearer kind of role in my life.…

Sermon Experiment Incoming

There’s a lot of work that goes into preparing a sermon for services at First Trinity. Pastor does most of the work of writing the sermon, but there are several others involved as well. We have a worship planning team that meets regularly to plan out the sermon series topics we’ll use. One of the main things we focus on at this time of year is summer worship planning. As the team talked about what to do this summer, we…

Preschool Renovation

We are excited about what God is doing in our Preschool! Throughout the vision process, we heard how people felt the Preschool was a powerful ministry at First Trinity for reaching children and families in our community. We had been praying for God’s direction for the next steps for the school. We thought expansion would be possible for the 2016-2017 year, but God had a quicker timetable! When registration opened for existing families this year, we immediately filled our 4-year-old…

Middle School Retreat Update: Part 2

This is the second in a series of three guest posts by Haley, a sixth grade student that went on the Middle School retreat in March. I asked her to share her experience at the retreat. You can read part 1 here. DAY 2: Oh Boy! Day two, well, let’s just say it was very entertaining!!! All right, so we got up ate breakfast, (which by the way was super good) and then we went to Bible Study. At Bible…

Jesus is the Center

This is part of a series of posts about our new vision statement. Click here to see all of them so far. The first line of our vision statement is: First Trinity is a growing family who is passionate about our Lord Jesus Christ. Remembering that this is five years out and looking at who we are, we are passionate about the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the core and center of all we do. Without Him we are nothing.…

Middle School Retreat Update: Part 1

This is the first in a series of three guest posts by Haley, a sixth grade student that went on the Middle School retreat in March. I asked her to share her experience at the retreat. Be Still… And Walk This Way. What should I start with: the memories, the warmth shown, the greetings, the laughs? How about God? Who is he? What does that almighty, powerful being do for us? What impacts did he make on the Ohio Middle…

A Vision for First Trinity in 2020

As we cast a vision for 2020, it is broad strokes. This is not a strategy or a road map of how to get where we want to be. It is a vision of what we are moving toward, so that in five years, it describes what we will look like. What we truly want is to be the people God calls us to be. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,…

The Easter Offering Update

Well, Easter has passed and we have our first update for the Easter Offering. You can read some of the back story for the Easter Offering in this post, but the brief version of the story is this: we wanted to make a difference in our community this Easter with a special offering for Jericho Road Ministries. God has worked amazing things through the outrageous generosity of His people. In total, people have donated $7,934.60. In addition, the Erie County…
