OUR CURRENT SPOTS ARE NOW FILLED FOR THIS TRIP, TO PUT YOUR NAME ON THE WAITING LIST, PLEASE USE THE FORM BELOW.
WHAT WILL WE DO: We will be serving all week serve at Give Kids The World (GKTW). Give Kids The World Village is a 79-acre, nonprofit “storybook” resort in Central Florida where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families are treated to week-long, cost-free vacations. We get to serve them around the village in a variety of rolls. In 2015 we had chances to work at the Ice Cream Palace, run the carousel and train, help out at the La-Ti-Da Spa, serve meals, welcome people as they came into the village, and more. It is such a joy to be part of providing these families with the week of their lives!
WHO CAN GO: This trip is open to all college students, young adults, and high school seniors. You do not have to be a First Trinity Member to attend, but if you are not, please contact Bekah before registering so she can get to know you a bit and tell you more about the trip. This trip is currently limited to 10 participants (see registration deadline section below for more details.)
WHERE WILL WE STAY: We will rent a vacation house within a few miles of GKTW so that we can be close for any early or late shifts and make our own meals. (An major upgrade from our 2015 trip where we drove 40+ miles each way between where we were staying and GKTW).
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST: Thanks to mission fundraising, we plan to keep the cost to participants under $300 (and potentially even lower). This includes all flights, lodging, meals, projects, and a tshirt. It does not include if the team decides to do a sightseeing event. (Both the total cost of the trip–estimated around $600-650 each–and the final cost to the missionary after fundraising is dependent upon flight costs and the final number of participants. It all depends on what we find. In 2015 participants only had to pay $100. Scholarships are available on an as-needed basis by talking to Bekah.)
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration closes October 14. That is when I have to confirm with GKTW our final registration numbers and will need to purchase plane tickets. PLEASE NOTE: AT THIS TIME, THERE IS LIMIT OF 10 PARTICIPANTS FOR THIS TRIP (plus 2 leaders)! We have currently filled the 10 spots available for this trip. If we get enough people on the waiting list we may be able to rent another house/van and open more spots or someone may have to drop out of the trip. To be put on the waiting list in case either of these things happen, please submit your information here:
Check out our 2015 video which also included some projects at a local church and school!
