Hearts for Haiti Mission
Yes, we will be returning in 2011!

The First Trinity Haiti Mission Team was in Haiti during the devastating earthquakes of January, 2010.  Scroll down or click here to read the story of the trip and the wonderful gift Pastor Chuck brought back.

Plans are already underway for a 2011 trip to return to the First Lutheran Church of Les Cayes to help the girl and boy orphans and do whatever they can to help rebuild the poorest country in our hemisphere.

Plans for the trip:

  • Using our time, talents and treasures to help rebuild

  • Supporting those in ministry in the area

  • Sharing songs, activities and TLC with the children

  • Visiting and worshiping at the Lutheran Church of Grande Plaine on Ile a Vache in Haiti

  • Working with Pastor Touloute to discuss his vision for future church-building in the surrounding areas

  • Sharing in worship and much more

We would like to thank all who supported the 2010 trip.  If you are looking for ways to continue to support our Haiti missions you can:

First Trinity Haiti 2010 Mission Trip

You may have recently heard of our Haiti mission team and their trip to Haiti in January during the recent earthquake. We praise God that all returned safely.

Photos from 2010 trip

Pastor Chuck returned on Monday, January 18, but he was not alone. He was able to bring back adopted Haiti children Whisken and Lovelie. Chuck and Susan Whited have been working for over 3 years to bring these beautiful children back to the United States. What a blessing in the midst of all of the destruction and sadness in Haiti.

Pastor and Susan were interviewed by the Buffalo News about their adoption of Lovelie and Wisken. Read the story here.

Pastor Chuck updated his blog with his insights and experiences. Also, please visit Director of Transformation Ministries Sue Steege's blog to read continuing updates about the Children of Israel orphanage and our continuing efforts to help those that remained.

You can also browse through Sue's blog, reading through the sequence of events leading up to, during and after the earthquake. Sue posts a lot - so be sure to scroll down to get to the great stories she posted immediately after the trip in January.
