Missions
First Trinity Lutheran Church is dedicated fulfilling our mission statement: Transforming Our World, One Life at a Time, through the Power of God's Living Word. We truly believe that in order to do this, we cannot remain focused only on our church and community, that we have to reach outside the church walls, and even outside the borders of our country to help people and churches in other nations become transformed.

International Ministries

Hearts for Haiti
Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. There is 80% unemployment, 300 children a day are orphaned, and one child dies every five minutes of malnutrition. The good news is that in the last ten years the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haiti has grown from 800 to 20,000. God is giving us a chance to also make a difference. First Trinity has sent mission teams in January every year since 2005 to work on projects, offer help and encouragement, and tell the Haitian people of God’s love for them. Haiti Mission Web Page for more details and ideas on how you can help our 2009 team. Get details on our latest project, Hearts for Haiti Finishing a Church & Building a School at the Lutheran Church of Grande Plaine on Ile a Vache in Haiti.

Katrina Mission
Following the disasters of hurricanes Katrina and Rita in September, 2005, First Trinity organized a team to help rebuild homes in the New Orleans area, traveling to the area in April, 2006. We continue to help with contributions and plans for future trips. Visit the Katrina Mission Web Page to find out more information and pictures of the trip.

Worldwide Mission Program
First Trinity donates a substantial amount annually to the Eastern District and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod for support of mission ministries throughout the world.
