Accessing Zoom on a Computer (Tablet instructions below)

Click “Sign In” on the top right.

Enter the login information you received via email for your assigned meeting. You should default to the “Meetings” view. If you were previously logged in, your screen may look like this:

If you see the above screen, click “My Account” on the top right. Then click “Meetings” on the left-hand side of the screen. It should look something like this:

Find your meeting in the list (upcoming meetings are near the top) and click the start button on the right-hand side. It will launch the Zoom meeting software on your computer and look like this:

If you have a microphone, choose “Join with Computer Audio”. If not, or you prefer to dial in on your phone, click “Phone Call” and follow the directions.

Once you are in your meeting, you will notice some controls on the bottom.

  • Mute/Unmute: Use the microphone button to mute or unmute your audio. (If you are accessing audio on your phone, you will need to mute audio on your phone.) You can use the up arrow to the right of the microphone to choose a microphone source. If people can’t hear you, this might be the problem.
  • Video On/Off: Use the video camera button to enable your video. If people can’t see you, you probably need to hit this button.
  • Invite: Used to copy the invitation and resend if someone lost their invite.
  • Manage Participants: This will bring up a list of who is in the meeting. Users can raise hands from here. The host can also mute people if needed.
  • Share: Use this button to share your screen with the group. Useful if you are looking at a website together or making notes during your meeting. Others will be able to see what you choose to share. (Most groups won’t need this.)
  • Chat: Click to open a chat box. People can write things to the group or directly to one another.

When you have finished your meeting, click the “End Meeting” link on the bottom right of your video window. It will be in red text and is only visible when your mouse is over the video. Choose “End Meeting For All”.

Accessing Zoom on a Tablet/Phone

Go to your app store and download the Zoom App. It has a blue background with a white video camera on it. (Screenshots are from an Apple iPad. Yours may look a little different.) Open the app and you will see something like this:

Click “Sign In” on the bottom right. Use the credentials you received from the church to log in. You should see this screen:

Click “Meetings” on the left-hand side (bottom on phones). It should look something like this:

Find your meeting and choose “Start”. To use the built-in audio on your device, choose “Call using Internet Audio”. If you wish to dial in with your phone, choose “Dial in” and follow the prompts. Once connected, you will see something like this:

Tap the screen once to bring up the menu if it is not showing. The main commands are found on the top right in the picture above. They are:

  • Mute/Unmute: Use the microphone button to mute or unmute your audio. If people can’t hear you, be sure you are not muted. It will be red with a line through it if you are muted, similar to the video in the image above.
  • Video On/Off: Use the video camera button to enable your video. If people can’t see you, you probably need to hit this button.
  • Invite: Used to copy the invitation and resend if someone lost their invite.
  • Participants: This will bring up a list of who is in the meeting. Users can raise hands from here. The host can also mute people if needed here. Chat is integrated into the participants tab on tablets/phone.
