Serving on the team are Jason Christ (Director of Attract and Middle School Ministries), Marsha Peth (Director of Care Ministries), Sue Steege (Director of Transformation Ministries), and Tim Hartnett (Ministry Operations Manager). Also included would be the Director Serve Ministries (vacant). We meet twice monthly.

We are currently reading and studying “Joining Jesus on His Mission: How to be an Everyday Missionary” by Greg Finke. Great book! We’re keeping an eye out about whether it would be a good one for our next all-church study. Today we discussed chapters 2-6.
We are looking at changing up the process for doing performance reviews for the staff, using a free tool developed by LifeChurch.tv called “Develop.me”. Some members of the EMT are testing it and are “in” the tool. Before next meeting, we are asked to input our goals from our last review.
We spent the bulk of our time on the Vision Process and created a timeline for rolling it out, which will include a congregation-wide showing of the film “When God Left the Building” on March 7 at 9:30 am. We will soon be testing our Vision Statement draft with past and present ministry leaders in the congregation, inviting them to be present at one of two feedback meetings (February 24 or 28). The focus of the EMT report at the March 21 congregational meeting will be the Vision. Exciting!
We talked about worship leadership going forward, with Tim Amor as interim band leader. We talked about our commitment to both traditional and contemporary worship as we go forward, which is strong. There is a process in place for finding new leadership which will be shared with Ministry Council, band members, choir members and then the whole congregation.
We approved the formation of a Generosity Team, which will be tasked with cultivating a heart of outrageous generosity in new and existing givers. David Fabian will lead. Tim Hartnett and Jason Christ will be part of it and we are looking for more members. If you’re interested, contact Jason Christ (firstname.lastname@example.org).
What a wonderful job our 175th Anniversary Committee did (led by Jim and Sue Brese)! We thank God for that entire team (Jeff and Sandra Rice, Marty and Carolyn Doster, Tim and Mary Lou Hartnett, Dick McKie, Sue Steege, Jon and Miriam Adams). We agreed it is time to take down the banners, so that job will get on the work list. The one in the Hall of Joy needs scaffolding to come down. The one outside needs a break in the weather.
- Encouragement Cards: We’re moving forward with them, in the pews. Responsibility of Care Ministries.
- Grief Ministry: Susie Stenson has agreed to lead a Grief Ministry with speakers, support groups, information, referral processes, etc.
- PIT Crews: are going to be re-formatted as Prayer Partners. We’re going to start with part-time staff.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments or contact any member of the EMT.
